Description

Jaune, the so-called yellow wine, is considered a specialty of the Jura region and when backed by the winemaking excellence of Domaine Rolet, the result is nothing short of delicious. Made from late-picked Savagnin, a white grape indigenous to the region, and composed of grapes from all four AOC zones, the wine is slowly fermented and aged for a minimum of six years. It is a meticulous winemaking process that results in a unique concentration of flavors, which is simply unparalleled.

Best drinking with at least ten years of aging. So the Vintage 2006 is perfect to be drunk now!

Tasting Notes

EYE:
Deep golden yellow, nearly amber hues are visually striking in the glass.
NOSE:
The subtle nose gradually opens up to reveal a wide range of spices and fresh nutty aromas.
MOUTH:
The attack begins with a gentle minerality and the rich, elegant texture reveals and expert balance between alcohol and acidity. Flavors include green walnut, almond, and nougat. Typical of Vin Jaune, the wine exhibits a special tangy character, unique nuttiness, and exceptional finesse.
