Pierre Ferraud Morgon 'Les Charmes' 2014
The best from Morgon! Easy to drink!
From the best 'terroir' of Beaujolais, a great example of what Gamay is all about
Very easy to drink and enjoyable now till the next 5 years. From arguably the most renowned terroir of the appellation: ‘Les Charmes’.
The soil is predominantly decomposed granitic schist and this is what gives the wine its structure and power. There is still plenty of fruit on offer but this has a much more structured palate and given a few years ageing will develop a richer kirsch character. Pairs very well with game.
EYE: Great deep red color.
NOSE: The nose is full of cherry, peach and intense green floral (lily of the valley). Hints of pepper.
MOUTH: In the mouth, the wine has a full-bodied, rich, meaty and powerful flavour. You can easily keep that wine for 5 to 6 years.
