Description

Composed of grapes grown in the Northern Rhone region of France, this 100% Syrah varietal is the product of 25-year-old vines and a family of French winemakers that stretches back nearly 200 years. Exhibiting tart red fruit flavors laced with elegant subtleties of pepper and spice, it is a homage to French Syrah and the ideal dinner guest if you’re planning a meal to remember. This wine is best enjoyed within 1 to 5 years.

Tasting Notes

The Crozes Hermitage Les Jalets wine first makes a statement with its bright ruby red color and slight violet hues. It exhibits a powerful bouquet of tart red berries underpinned by a subtle spiciness. Entering the mouth with a strong attack, it smooths its way across the palate and leaves behind a light licorice flavor that nicely complements the bright acidity and red fruit flavors.

Food Pairing

This cool-climate Syrah is bursting with mouth-watering fruit flavor and is best paired with more delicate fare, though is absolutely delicious when accompanied by foods seasoned with fresh pepper. Try pairing the Les Jalets with a bistro-style skirt steak seasoned with freshly ground pepper corns, roast beef, barbecued meats, or slow cooked lamb.
