Among all the major Champagne producers belonging to the famous Pernod-Ricard group, one of the biggest names that comes to mind is Mumm. Mumm is the third largest producer behind Moet & Chandon and Veuve Clicquot.
Vinified separately, this Cuvée is made exclusively with wine from the 2006 harvest, and was already judged to be exceptional in November when the wines were first tasted. The year that produced it began with a relatively cold winter followed by a mild spring and a variable summer (a heatwave in July and a rainy month of August). The harvest was “saved” by the sun and wind in September which provided ideal conditions for the grapes to reach maturity.
A vintage year brings to a style its own realm of complex and unique aromas and flavours.” - Didier Mariotti, Mumm Cellar Master
