Domaine Rolet, Arbois Trousseau 2009
This wine is made exclusively with the Trousseau grape (also known as Bastardo, in Portugal), a variety that is indigenous to the Jura region, in the mountains of Eastern France. This rare grape is responsible for the wine’s deep cherry-red color and dark red berry flavors that make it such a spectacular drinking companion.
EYE: In the glass, this wine exhibits striking bright red, cherry-colored hues.
NOSE: Lush red fruits come alive in a complex bouquet, abounding in aromas of strawberry and blackberry, underpinned by a subtle spiciness.
MOUTH: On the palate, flavors echo the red fruits and spicy notes of the bouquet, while the jammy black fruits begin to move toward the foreground.
