Maison Chanson -Beaune Bressandes 1er cru - 2012 - 750 ml
Les Bressandes is a fine source of premier cru Beaune, facing due east on a steep slope. It was owned in the XIIIth century by a Canon of Beaune, Jean Bressand, hence the name "Bressandes".The cru is known to produce wines with a combination and body and elegance, with noticeable tannin but rich fruit. Domaine Chanson's 2ha are located on the upper part of the hill.
"The 2012 Beaune 1er Cru Bressandes has perhaps the purest bouquet of Chanson’s premier crus this year with lifted, perfumed cassis, blackberry and violets scents, and underlying mineralite that should be enhanced with bottle age. The palate is sweet and supple on the entry, fleshy and generous with lush red berry fruit, fine tannins and a sense of assuredness on the finish."

"A broad-ranging nose features aromas of plum, violets, cassis, earth and a touch of wood. This also possesses a suave and very round mouth feel as there is plenty of palate coating dry extract buffering the moderately firm tannic spine that shapes the middle weight flavors and impressively persistent finish. This balanced effort will need every bit of a decade to reach its full development potential."
