Description

Most recent in a line of non-vintage blends from chardonnay grapes, this harmonious and deliberately seducing Blanc de Blancs will bewitch you. Its striking golden luminosity is further enhanced by the clear glass bottle, a replica from an 18th Century model.

Ruinart Blanc de Blancs presents a pale golden yellow color with beautiful luminosity and striking brilliance.

The nose is very intense. On the palate, the wine is very supple, round and harmonious, with rich notes of brioche, honey, and crispiness on the long, sustained finish.

Ruinart Blanc de Blancs releases its harmonious and delicate freshness when it is drunk cold, around 8 to 9 degrees.

        Description

The Grand Brut from Perrier-Jouët is the classic cuvee of this house founded in 1811 and which is one of the best known in the world thanks to the famous Art Nouveau design of white anemones and enameled roses circled with gold that has become the emblem of Perrier-Jouët.

This champagne is made with a large proportion of Pinot Meunier, which results in an elegant, refined wine. The quality of the Grand Brut is constant, showing great finesse and exceptional length.

The Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut is brilliant gold in color, with a fine chain of persistent bubbles.

The nose is extremely expressive with white flowers (acacia, hawthorn), pear, grapefruit, white peach and fresh cut grass.

It is a very well-balanced champagne, vivacious and round with good fruit characters on the palate of apple, pineapple and citrus (pink grapefruit and mandarin).

Notes of brioche appear on the final of exceptional length.

              Description

2006 was climatically irregular and, taken as a whole, hot and dry.

The cellar-based ripening of the 2006 vintage was very slow. For a long time, the wine was largely dominated solely by the fruit's ripeness. It was not until 2015 that the comprehensiveness and harmony of its first plénitude was finally revealed.

Dom Pérignon 2006 is superlative, luminous and glorious. Its original generosity - ample and tactile - is enhanced by a clear structure that gives it freshness and precision.

              ON THE NOSE

The immediate impression is of the mildness of the pure, airy, bright bouquet. A floral, fruity pastel tone then unfolds and quickly darkens into candied fruit, ripe hay and toasted notes, along with hints of licorice.

              ON THE PALATE

The wine’s opulence – contained and succulent, round at heart – reveals itself on the palate. The envelope slides and stretches, and the wine becomes more complex and edgy, silkier than it is creamy. The whole eventually melts into an exquisite bitterness tinged with the briny taste of the sea.

              FOOD PAIRING

Sicilian olive oil embraces the incomparable sensual note of Dom Pérignon. When the wine makes contact with this low acidity, brilliance, and unctuous substance, it reveals Dom Pérignon Vintage 2006's silky curves, seamless voluptuousness and creaminess, brightened by vegetal notes.

                      Description

The Brut Rosé by Billecart-Salmon is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir white juice and Pinot Noir red juice.

The Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé is pale pink taking on warm gold hues, and its delicate and slowly ascending bubbles create a long-lasting mousse. The subtle nose reveals an elegant bouquet of very refined red fruit notes.

The particular method used to make this champagne results in a lightness of touch, an elegance on the palate and a superbly refreshing final.

Strongly anchored in tradition, such as the use of barrels for the grand crus, Billecart-Salmon age their bottles in an extended network of caves cut out of the chalk hills, dating from the 17th and 19th century.

The constant temperature – around 12°, enables a very fine effervescence to develop. The Brut Rosé from Billecart-Salmon is a champagne to fall in love with, a summer champagne, much appreciated by female palates for its balance and delicacy.

The “trade secrets” and the winemaking methods go way back to the origins of the establishment, and have been passed down through seven generations.

                            Description

A predominance of Pinot Noir provides the structure that is so typically Clicquot, while a touch of Meunier rounds out the blend and Chardonnay adds the elegance and finesse essential in a perfectly balanced wine. Grapes from as many as 50 to 60 different Crus go into the blending of Yellow Label. Traditionally, the proportion of each grape variety used is 50 to 55% Pinot Noir, 28 to 33% Chardonnay and 15 to 20% Pinot Meunier. The reserve wine content of each new release varies depending on the quality of the latest vintage. Chef de Caves Demarville uses as much as 25 to 40% reserve wines to ensure the continuity of the House style.

Domaine Egly-Ouriet Champagne is sensual and unforgettable, a necessary experience for those who crave the power and finesse of Pinot Noir-based wines. What you’ll find at this family “grower” house is truly vinous Champagne, wines striking in their concentration and complexity. Winemaker Francis Egly’s practice of harvesting very ripe grapes and aging his wines in barrel for years are some of the technical decisions that set his art apart from the rest; yet it is the results that captivate. Egly- Ouriet Champagne is age-worthy, sumptuous and at times surreal; these wines are unquestionably the pinnacle of Pinot Noir-based Champagne.

Veuve Clicquot have an excellent reputation for producing a classic vintage expression of the house style, This Vintage release is no differnent. New Packaging and updated style of champagne is due entirely by the addition at Veuve Clicquot of cellar master Dominique Demarville. A clearfocus on the use of Oak and the malo fermentation delivering creaminess and layers of flavour, The balance of acid is also the underlying bones which is encouraging for the house style to show length and persistence in many years to come.

The pale green-gold colour and fine mousse belie the power that begins to reveal itself on the nose and finally explodes in the mouth. The richness is balanced throughout with finesse and delicacy, a fine achievement for a quality chamapagne, conciously and purposely differing from the prior 2004 and 2002 vintages this wine will grow in bottle for years to come and surely reward.

                                              Description

Moët & Chandon Impérial NV is the world's most popular champagne: and Moët's Rosé Impérial NV ranks up there in the non-vintage rosé category. The most extrovert and seductive expression of the House style, Rosé Impérial is a Pinot Noir- and Pinot Meunier-dominant blend of over two hundred crus. The final assemblage contains 25% reserve wines and 8% red wine made using thermo-vinifcation; a method that gives colour and fruitiness to the wine.

Tasting Note: On the nose, this vivid pink champagne displays a fruity bouquet of red berries and cherries. On the palate, an initial sweetness of berries lends itself to a freshness of fruits. The finish is long with more red fruit flavour and hints of pink grapefruit. A very vinous rosé with a fruit-forward style.

                                                    Description

The Brut Réserve de L'Hommée is a triumph of balance and precision.

L'Hommée is an ancient agricultural measurement equivalent to the surface of vines that a man could work in one day, roughly 3,33a (333m2).

The cuvée Réserve de l'Hommée has been created exclusively from terroirs which were once measured in this way.

It is a blend of 33% Pinot Meunier, 33% Pinot Noir and 33% Chardonnay from the Premier Cru terroirs of Vrigny and Pargny which has been aged on lees in oak barrels for 7 months.

After undergoing malolactic fermentation it is dosed at 6g/L and then enjoys a period of 5 years maturing in the Roger Coulon cellars before being presented.

                                                          Description

The Blanc de Blancs from Delamotte is a masterful interpretation of the most noble terroirs of the Côte des Blancs, made from Chardonnay grown on the Grand Cru terroirs of Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize and Cramant.

The minerality in this Blanc de Blancs is derived from the chalky soils of the vineyards.

The nose is graceful, floral, mineral.

The palate opens with elegance and verve, beautifully ethereal, reflecting the same floral notes as found on the nose but with a supplementary touch of salinity.

The aromas of this Blanc de Blancs have been polished and rounded by 4 to 5 years in the Delamotte cellars.

Excellent for a summer aperitif or served with a plate of oysters or grilled fish.

                                                                Description

                                                                THE THRILL OF PINOT NOIR

Dom Pérignon Rosé is a tribute to Pinot Noir. To work with Pinot Noir continually requires excellence and humility. In that regard, Dom Pérignon Rosé is a paradox to the point of contradiction as it is the perfect balance of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
Although it took over ten years to reach the light of day, the color of Dom Pérignon Rosé dares to express all the tension between youth and maturity, between exhibition and restraint.
Dom Pérignon Rosé keeps the Pinot Noir promise by making it sing out loud, on a clear, vibrant and fragile note.

                                                                ON THE PALATE

The attack is smooth and embracing, but it is the impression of precision that dominates in the end. The wine’s chiseled integrity, intense and penetrating, is prolonged with the unexpected hint of green citrus that marks the vintage.

                                                                ON THE NOSE

The nose sings out loud and clear, beginning with fresh, intense red fruit: redcurrants and wild strawberries, complemented by warm notes of ripe hay, blood orange and cocoa.

                                                                THE 2004 HARVEST

The full-bodied ease of the 2004 vintage will leave its mark on the history of Dom Pérignon. In stark contrast to the previous year, the vines experienced steady, problem-free vegetative growth, with abundant, sizable grape clusters. There were no weather extremes during most of the season – even the month of August was rather cool. It was the dry heat of the final weeks that made the vintage what it is. The harvest of the mature, healthy crop began on September 24.

The envelope slides and stretches, and the wine becomes more complex and edgy, silkier than it is creamy. The whole eventually melts into an exquisite bitterness tinged with the briny taste of the sea.

                                                                        FOOD PAIRING

When the wine makes contact with this low acidity, brilliance, and unctuous substance, it reveals Dom Pérignon Vintage 2006's silky curves, seamless voluptuousness and creaminess, brightened by vegetal notes.

A blend of all three grape varieties from thirty still base wines, White Foil is an often an assemblage of three or four different vintages. The Pinot Noir contributes body, depth of character and life-extending tannins and comes from the villages of the Montagne de Reims; the Chardonnay provides the lightness, elegance and finesse and is drawn from Épernay itself and the villages of the Côte des Blancs; and the Pinot Meunier supplies youthful freshness, vigour and plump character with the grapes coming from the Vallée d'Epernay. The bottle code indicates packaging date: the first digit denotes the year and the next three digits the day of that year.

It was an extraordinary show of power from deep inside the vines, an explosion of quality that had had been building quietly for an entire year, deep within the earth, in the vines themselves, the product of the soil, the wind, the rain, the sun, until finally, surpassing all their hopes, this champagne surged forth: like a serene volcano, it simmered quietly before unleashing its true nature, as if by surprise, with the Salon 2004 vintage.

It pairs well with simple shellfish, fine fish or oyster ( with a touch a Japanese seaweed), or with a great Parma or Iberico ham.

EYE: The pale colourflashing with green, the tiny bubbles rising dynamically on their gossamer thread, hallmarks of the vintage.
NOSE: An impressive nose with notes of minerals, gun-flint, stones, smoked tea, just a touch of mint.
MOUTH: The wine is all purity and fine acidity. The magnificent salinity of this great white wine, still in its first flush of youth, offers a suitable foil to the ripe chardonnay fruit, emerging gently but surely, with hints of brioche, warm bread and fresh yeast characters tiptoeing in behind. The wine becomes rounder as it airs in the glass, revealing a beautiful vinosity, the curve counter-balancing its acidity to perfection. And on the finish, the merest hint of bitterness, the signature of so many truly great wines.

                                                                                      Characteristics
