Moulin de Gassac - Guilhem Rose - 750 ml
A classy rosé! Perfect with grills, barbecues, salad and fruit dessert.
Vivid salmon colour with a fine nose of crushed red flowers, cherry and redcurrant. The light, refreshing palate is cooling, with lovely red apple skin and peach notes. Fruity but dry, with a crisp, lip-smacking finish.
Drink on its on as an evening tonic or try with teriyaki tuna skewers.
A blend of Syrah and Carignan from Jurassic limestone slopes in France's deep south. The crop (which is ultra-organic) is de-stemmed to avoid harsh compounds leaching into the wine. The young wine was rested for 6 months in stainless steel prior to bottling, to allow its flavours to come together.
The producer, Mas de Daumas Gassac, has been variously described as 'Lafite in the Languedoc', 'the only Grand Cru of the Midi' and 'exceptional'. Pays d'Hérault is a productive IGP (Indication Géographique Protégée) in Languedoc-Roussillon that focuses on mostly red wine. The area also grows grapes - both local and imported from other regions - for appellation-level wines like Minervois and Faugeres.
