Champagne Magnum Selection (150cl)

Description

The Brut Réserve from the Billecart-Salmon champagne house was elected «Best Brut in the World» by the famous publication ‘Decanter’.

The Billecart-Salmon Brut Réserve is a champagne which is round, harmonious and well-balanced.

The blend, the formula of which has remained unchanged since 1945, is made up of grapes from three different vintages and three varieties; Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, all from the best terroirs of the Marne.

Strongly anchored in tradition, such as the use of barrels for the grand crus, Billecart-Salmon age their bottles in an extended network of caves cut out of the chalk hills, dating from the 17th and 19th century. The constant temperature – around 12°, enables a very fine effervescence to develop.

The Billicart-Salmon Brut Reserve offers a robe of gleaming straw yellow enhanced by the finesse of its gently rising bubbles and its persistent mousse.

The nose reveals good maturity coupled with a flowery freshness, and aromas of pear and blackberry.

The attack is frank and mouth filling, followed by freshness and a richness endowed by an ageing in traditional cellars.

        Description

The Brut Rosé by Billecart-Salmon is a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir white juice and Pinot Noir red juice.

The Billecart-Salmon Brut Rosé is pale pink taking on warm gold hues, and its delicate and slowly ascending bubbles create a long-lasting mousse. The subtle nose reveals an elegant bouquet of very refined red fruit notes.

The particular method used to make this champagne results in a lightness of touch, an elegance on the palate and a superbly refreshing final.

The Brut Rosé from Billecart-Salmon is a champagne to fall in love with, a summer champagne, much appreciated by female palates for its balance and delicacy.

The “trade secrets” and the winemaking methods go way back to the origins of the establishment, and have been passed down through seven generations.

                Description

The Blanc de Blancs from Delamotte is a masterful interpretation of the most noble terroirs of the Côte des Blancs, made from Chardonnay grown on the Grand Cru terroirs of Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize and Cramant.

The minerality in this Blanc de Blancs is derived from the chalky soils of the vineyards.

The nose is graceful, floral, mineral.

The palate opens with elegance and verve, beautifully ethereal, reflecting the same floral notes as found on the nose but with a supplementary touch of salinity.

The aromas of this Blanc de Blancs have been polished and rounded by 4 to 5 years in the Delamotte cellars.

Excellent for a summer aperitif or served with a plate of oysters or grilled fish.

                      Description

2007 was not the most straightforward vintage, but like all vintages, it was marked by certain key events. A surprisingly mild winter and an exceptionally warm winter made for an early and promising start to the growing season.
However, the growth was hindered by a cold rainy August, following a sunny weather leading to a rise in temperature and the grapes were fast-tracked to ripeness.
Harvest began as early as August 30th for Chardonnay, Grands Crus delivering impeccable fruit with a fine balance of acidity and potential alcohol.

This wine will continue to develop and refine its charms way into the future – way beyond 2030 without a doubt.

EYE: Soft gold with green reflections its glows by its countless small bubbles.
NOSE: The aroma of white flowers, orange blossom, jasmine, hints of Williams pear and uplifting spearmint.
MOUTH: Honeyed and spiked with citrus, youthful and maturing as it lingers in the mouth.

                            Description

The Brut from Delamotte is an atypical champagne which breaks the mould of non-vintage brut champagne, which is too often stereotyped.

The Delamotte Brut offers a measured balance between intense fruit and lively minerality.

The refreshing lightness is due to the majority of Chardonnay in the blend, with structure and fruit brought by the Pinot Noir and density by the Pinot Meunier.

36 months cellar ageing adds supplementary smoothness and maturity.

The nose offers lovely bready and fruity aromas, with white fleshed fruits, pear and a touch of ginger in the mouth.

It is a champagne which is absolutely perfect for aperitif.

The Deutz Brut Classic is the very soul of the Deutz champagne house. Born of a blend of several years’ grape harvests, every year a variable proportion of reserve wine (between 20 and 40%) is incorporated to ensure the regularity, complexity and individuality of the Deutz style. It’s composed of one third Pinot Noir, one third Chardonnay and one third Pinot Meunier, and derives its harmony from the quality of the grapes (97% on the scale of growths), and careful parcel selection (between 20 and 30 all from the Marne area).

Deutz Brut Classic is brilliant gold in color with fine bubbles. With an expressive nose, it opens with floral notes (hawthorn, white blossom) developing toasted notes with almond paste and very ripe fruits (apple, pear).

The palate of the Deutz Brut Classic is elegant, with the brightness of the Chardonnay combining with the velvetiness of the Pinot to offer a silky texture and harmonious aromas finishing with persistent fruit notes.

                                        Description

Domaine Egly-Ouriet Champagne is sensual and unforgettable, a necessary experience for those who crave the power and finesse of Pinot Noir-based wines. What you’ll find at this family “grower” house is truly vinous Champagne, wines striking in their concentration and complexity. Winemaker Francis Egly’s practice of harvesting very ripe grapes and aging his wines in barrel for years are some of the technical decisions that set his art apart from the rest; yet it is the results that captivate. Egly- Ouriet Champagne is age-worthy, sumptuous and at times surreal; these wines are unquestionably the pinnacle of Pinot Noir-based Champagne.

Pol Roger Réserve NV has long been recognisable of the distinctive white foil closure, hence it is commonly referred to simply as 'White Foil'. A blend of all three grape varieties from thirty still base wines, White Foil is an often an assemblage of three or four different vintages. The Pinot Noir contributes body, depth of character and life-extending tannins and comes from the villages of the Montagne de Reims; the Chardonnay provides the lightness, elegance and finesse and is drawn from Épernay itself and the villages of the Côte des Blancs; and the Pinot Meunier supplies youthful freshness, vigour and plump character with the grapes coming from the Vallée d'Epernay. The bottle code indicates packaging date: the first digit denotes the year and the next three digits the day of that year.

                                                    Description

The Brut Réserve de L'Hommée is a triumph of balance and precision.

L'Hommée is an ancient agricultural measurement equivalent to the surface of vines that a man could work in one day, roughly 3,33a (333m2).

The cuvée Réserve de l'Hommée has been created exclusively from terroirs which were once measured in this way.

It is a blend of 33% Pinot Meunier, 33% Pinot Noir and 33% Chardonnay from the Premier Cru terroirs of Vrigny and Pargny which has been aged on lees in oak barrels for 7 months.

After undergoing malolactic fermentation it is dosed at 6g/L and then enjoys a period of 5 years maturing in the Roger Coulon cellars before being presented.

Salon 2006, a great vintage with a tremendous future ahead!

First of all, just wait. Once Salon 2006 has been uncorked, leave it a little while, to breathe, to open out!!

Matching Salon 2006 to food is a sensual delight: from slices of Iberico ham to an ultra-dark chocolate tart, truffled mash, or even sublime truffled eggs, a carpaccio of tuna.

EYE: Shimmering golden colour, glinting silver and green. The never-ending bubbles, so tiny, setting free the familiar betwitching scents of Salon in its first flush.
NOSE: Notes of white flowers, citrus zest, lightly toasted brioche. Then the glass fills magically with autumnal tones, fresh hazelnuts, praline, dried apricot, ripe yellow fruits.
                                                          MOUTH:
A romantic of the highest order, Salon 2006 embodies the carefree spirit of youth, tempered by experience. And there lies its true enigma and charm. To know restraint but be generous, to combine lightness with solidity. This sense of duality is confirmed in the impeccable palate structure. Simultaneously rich and incisive, with the fine linear acidity to permit cellaring for 30 years, Salon 2006 has a long future ahead.
